A War that Cannot be Won and its Collateral Damage

Global war on drugs 'has failed' say former leaders

Hopefully the report represents another small step forward towards a common sense approach to the drugs problem. It's a pity politicians don't have the courage to speak out whilst in office but the emotional media seems to stifle any reasoned debate on drugs.

This is yet another awful side effect of the simple illegality of the drugs trade. A legal supply of drugs would remove this collateral damage from the market. Wouldn't it make more sense for a guy like Sir Richard Branson to run the drugs trade than a collection of Pablo Escobar wannabes?
